When you think about the greatest Pittsburgh Steelers to ever play, you don’t often think about defensive backs. With 2 Hall of Fame quarterbacks, multiple wide receivers, running backs and linebackers, defensive back doesn’t always come to mind. It doesn’t help that recent history has shown this group has been something of a weakness.
But as we dug through the history we were reminded of just how many great defensive backs have played in Pittsburgh. We decided to narrow our list down to the top seven and ranked safeties and cornerbacks all together. Let us know what you think of the rankings.
