RAIPUR: Openers A G Tiwary (86 off 131) and Shashank Chandrakar (101 off 191) laid the foundation as hosts Chhattisgarh wrapped up day one of the four-day Ranji Trophy match against Goa for 274 for four.
Winning the toss, the hosts chose to bat first at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday and the openers responded well when they put up a hundred-run partnership for the first wicket, providing a solid start to the team.
Coming at number three, Ashutosh Singh contributed a valuable 55 off 140. Captain Harpreet Singh Bhatia was unbeaten on 22 off 46 at stumps while Amandeep Khare was yet to open the account. Both the batsmen will resume batting on Wednesday.
Vijesh Prabhudesai claimed two wickets for Goa while Lakshay A Garg and Darshan Misal took one each. Arjun Tendulkar remained economical but he went wicket-less.
