RangersTV problem leaves Rangers fans unable to watch Legia Warsaw clash

Thousands of Rangers fans have been left unable to see their side's Europa League play-off tie against Legia Warsaw on Thursday night due to technical difficulties.

The Ibrox club headed to the Polish capital for their first-leg clash in a bid to make the Europa League group stage.

Subscribers to RangersTV – who pay £17.99 a month for the premium package – logged on before kick-off to watch the big match, which is not being televised on normal TV services such as Sky.

They were joined by other fans who are non-subscribers and who had paid a one-off fee to RangersTV of £9.99 just to watch the game.

But many were unable to access the site and RangersTV issued a statement on Twitter acknowledging the problem and directing fans to another website.

However a host of fans were unable to get logged on to either site.

A RangersTV statement said: "We are aware of an issue with the main RangersTV page.

"Those who bought the match before around 6pm should be able to login to http://europa.rangers.co.uk

"We are working on the main site and will hopefully be back up soon."

A host of pubs were also due to show the game but a number of them have experienced the same technical problems although some bars have been able to show the match uninterrupted.

Many fans took to Twitter to express their frustrations and to see who else was having the same problem as Rangers turned in a fine performance to earn a hard-fought 0-0 draw.
