Rangers youngster Mateusz Zukowski completes loan transfer away from Ibrox

Mateusz Zukowski has departed Rangers for a loan deal in Poland.

The 20-year-old defender - who joined Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men during the winter transfer window - has failed to break into the top team on a regular basis and will now spend the season with Lech Poznan as he bids to gain crucial top team experience.

The right-back featured in last season's Scottish Cup win at Annan Athletic but will now ply his trade for the upcoming campaign back in his homeland. He played 90 minutes in both Rangers B SPFL Trust Trophy wins over Spartans and Dumbarton. A club statement read: "Rangers can today announce Mateusz Zukowski has joined Lech Poznan on-loan until the end of the season.

"The 20 year-old right-back joined Gers in the winter transfer window and featured in the Scottish Cup win at Annan in February.

"Mateusz returns to Poland with the best wishes of everyone at Rangers."
