Dumbarton owner Mario Lapointe has heaped praise on Rangers youngster Alexander Smith after his loan spell in League Two.
The midfielder joined the Sons on loan in January and went on to register four assists in eight games as he helped them stay in the SPFL.
It was a productive first loan spell for the talented 17-year-old, who will now go on to try and further his development.
Lapointe says Smith has played with a maturity beyond his years and had a huge impact in the short time he has been at the club.
The Canadian said on LinkedIn: "At just 17, Alex showed us exactly what he's made of - an impact on the pitch, courage under huge pressure, and a determination well beyond his years.

"Time will tell how high he'll go, but he's earned every bit of what comes next. I wish him nothing but the best with Rangers, he's more than deserving of the opportunity and will always be welcomed in Dumbarton."
Smith was named on he bench as the Rangers first-team took on Porto in the Europa League.
Speaking after that, he said: "I want to develop my numbers. I want to make sure I'm adding goals and assists to my game.
"I've been working on it in training, so hopefully it's starting to pay off in the games.
"I've probably adjusted to the physical side. It's taken me a while to get used to it, but I think I'm in a good place now and I'm pushing on now."
