Rangers youngster Glenn Middleton could be set for a loan move to the Netherlands in a bid to breathe life into his faltering Ibrox career.
The 20-year-old burst onto the scene in Steven Gerrard's inaugural campaign as Gers boss, but has struggled to replicate the form that saw him become a key part of the squad in the 2018/19 season.
The former Norwich City youngster has played just once this season, making an appearance off the bench in Rangers' Betfred Cup win over Falkirk.
And two Dutch sides are now reportedly circling to offer him a lifeline chance at first team football for the remainder of the campaign.
The Daily Record reports Eredivisie outfits NAC Breda and ADO Den Haag are keen on a loan bid for the winger in January.
Middleton has previously spent time on loan at Hibernian and Bradford City, but failed to make an impression in either Edinburgh or Yorkshire.
Gerrard has spoken of his desire to convert Middleton into a left wing back however, he scored twice for the Gers' Colts side in their Glasgow Cup win over Clyde last week, suggesting he may still have a future higher up the pitch.
Speaking earlier this month, he said: “Glenn has been on loan and had injuries but he has been back within the group for four or five weeks now.
“He has been working hard and playing for an opportunity. We think he can do left-back, left-wing back or left-wing.”
