Rangers winger Jordan Jones on radar of English Championship clubs

Several English Championship clubs are weighing up moves for Rangers outcast Jordan Jones.

The Northern Ireland winger made just 14 appearances in all competitions for Steven Gerrard's side last season with his time at Ibrox appearing up.

Former club Middlesbrough are reportedly in pole position to sign Jones but face competition from Michael O'Neill's Stoke City, Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers, QPR and Barnsley also keen.

The Daily Record reported last month that Gers boss Gerrard had told Jones he can leave the club.

Former Celtic star Kris Commons believes Jones's future lies away from Ibrox.

He said after Rangers' 1-0 win over Aberdeen at the weekend: “I think we can safely assume that Jones won’t be there for much longer. There’s probably more chance of me getting a game on the wing for Rangers this season than him."
