Rangers winger Jordan Jones nearing return from knee injury

Rangers winger Jordan Jones has told fans he'll be "back soon" as he steps up his recovery from a knee injury.

The Northern Ireland international was sent off against Celtic back in September for a wild lunge at Moritz Bauer.

Jones damaged knee ligaments in the tackle which has ruled him out of action for the past two months.

He hasn't played Rangers or Northern Ireland since then but he appears to be on the road to recovery.

Jones posted a picture on Twitter showing him back training with the message "back soon".

Jones will have to work hard to get back in Steven Gerrard's team after the Rangers boss was left furious by his red shame against Celtic.

Speaking about the sending off, Gerrard previously said: "He totally deserved it. It has come from frustration but if you are Jordan Jones and you want fans on your side, you create and score goals.

"That's how you get fans on your side - not kicking people when the ball's ten yards away.

"He deserves the red card, he deserves the ban and he's got everything to do now to get back into my team."
