Scottish football should be braced for peace and harmony with VAR potentially on the way at last.
No more controversial calls, no more week-long bust up or conspiracy theories.
Yeah, any one who thinks that needs a kick up the VARS.
Andy Adams, Kirkcaldy, said: “Paul Keenen says VAR will stop decisions going for Rangers, well I disagree – I think we'll get more penalties.
“We're in the box more than anyone so it's a nap we'll get more decisions going our way. As for the Ryan Porteous red card? It was an easy decision, and the correct call.”
Kenny Goff, via email, said: “Finally when teams play at Ibrox and Parkhead we will get an equal share of the decisions.
“For years other teams have been done out of blatantly calls, as everyone saw regarding the penalty not given to Dundee last week against Celtic."
The Porteous flashpoint continues to cause debate.
Alfie Mullin, London, said: “Now that it has been agreed that Porteous' red card is correct, his two-match ban should be at least doubled, due to Hibs wasting SFA/SPFL time.
“After all, that has happened to Rangers players and on occasion the other mob's players.”
John Wilson, Maryhill, said: “Is there no end to to caller Gordon Ashley’s talent's?
“He's a financial whizz kid on Celtic and Rangers accounts, now he's a grade one referee, who told everyone no way was the Porteous tackle a red card.
“He should apply for the director of football job at his beloved Celtic, or maybe he is over qualified.”
Old Firm fans are even seeing conspiracies in the fixture list these days.
Alfie Mullin, London, said: “Terence McGuigan said Rangers have got easier fixtures as Celtic have to go to Tynecastle, Easter Road, Pittodrie and Ibrox twice each before the split.
“He seems to think it's some kind of fix. Well, after the split, Rangers will probably need to go to Tynecastle, Easter Road, Pittodrie and Celtic Park.
“If the league is close at that time, then it'll look like Rangers have the tougher fixtures.”
Eddie Gilfeather emailed: “If the SPL fixtures are generated randomly by a computer, how come there has always been a Glasgow derby on, or near, New Year’s Day for most of the past 100 years.
”We all know they are fixed. The same "randomness" means that prior to the split Celtic have to visit Pittodrie twice, Easter Road twice, Tynecastle twice and Ibrox twice. Rangers visit Pittodrie, Easter Road, Tynecastle and Parkhead only once.”
Celtic are dishing out new deals but some remain unsigned at Ibrox.
David Bryce,Troon, said: “It’s a sure sign of where Celtic are at just now when we’re talking about renewing Greg Taylor’s contract!
“Why? What has he contributed? He works hard however is a bang average player and that’s me being kind.”
And Colin Hall, Carrickfergus, said: “If Connor Goldson's heart isn't in it at Rangers, and let's face it he hasn't shown the determination and stalwart stance he produced last year, then just come out with it and state he won't be staying on.”
In case people hadn’t noticed, Scotland have a crucial World Cup qualifier this weekend.
But some are already planning for a new manager.
Neil Renton, Edinburgh, said: “If things don’t work out for Stevie Clarke as Scotland manager we should replace him with Arbroath manager Dick Campbell.
“He’s worked wonders over the years, if he can do that with a bunch of part time players, imagine what he can do with a squad of internationals?”
Great idea, but let’s keep the faith with Clarkey for now.
