Rangers' 'Warriors' TIFO and the hidden meaning behind epic pre-match Braga rallying cry

"Oh, warriors? Come out and play-ay."

Rangers supporters rolled back the years for a pre-match statement of intent as the Union Bears displayed an epic TIFO to send a message to Braga before their epic Europa League clash on Thursday.

The iconic line from Walter Hill's 1979 classic 'The Warriors' was in full view in the Copland Road before kick-off as a crescendo of noise greeted both sets of players as they entered the pitch.

But the Portuguese side were ready for a fight and looked set for a rousing win after racing into a 2-0 lead before Ianis Hagi inspired an Ibrox comeback for the ages.

And the pre-match battle cry carried an extra meaning as one of Braga's nicknames is the 'Minho Warriors'.

To be fair, the Portuguese side have more monikers than most and are also known as the Archbishops and the Arsenalists, due to their kit similarities with the Premier League big boys.

But the display certainly took on an added significance due to Braga's battling byname.

And it was rounded off with the crests of four of their Europa League victims in Legia Warsaw, Porto, Young Boys and Feyenoord included.

Rangers supporters' TIFO was even picked up in the Polish press as they received kudos for their efforts as they namechecked Legia.

The Ibrox side will count of their supporters once again in the return leg next Wednesday as they know a win or a draw will see them through to the last 16.
