Rangers vs Leverkusen ON as UEFA make huge Europa League call

Rangers’ match with Leverkusen will go ahead tonight at Ibrox as UEFA decided against a mass suspension the Europa League or Champions League.

The game was in doubt after Spanish media organisation Marca reported the key European competitions would be cancelled but the matches will go ahead as planned.

It means the 50k fans set to descend on Govan tonight can attend the game although they should be aware of advice from the government and club about common sense precautions while at the game.

And the club confirmed the match will go ahead as planned, saying: "Rangers can confirm that tonight’s Europa League match against Bayer Leverkusen will go ahead as planned in front of our Ibrox crowd.

"Thank you for your patience and understanding as everyone within the football community and beyond deals with this ever changing situation."

Fixtures in Scotland could be set to go behind closed doors from next week after the First Minister told the Scottish Parliament she would recommend the cancellation of gatherings of more than 500 people.
