How Rangers squad value compares to Braga as Ibrox club's financial advantage laid bare

Rangers have spent around £5million more on their playing squad than Europa League rivals Braga.

The Portuguese side visit Ibrox tomorrow for the first leg of the last 32 clash, having recorded a stunning win over Benfica at the weekend.

Included in their ranks is Trincao, the young forward who has been sold to Barcelona for a fee of close to £26m.

Manager Ruben Amorim will hope that can be reinvested into his squad, which has already had less spent on it that Steven Gerrard's.

Braga's wage budget is also significantly lower than Rangers', standing at around £20m for this season according to business journal Negocios.

The Ibrox club paid out £34.5m in wages for the 2018-19 financial year, a figure that will be even higher now with the Global Sports Salary report calculating that the average salary has risen by 39 per cent since September 2018.

They calculate that Rangers pay an average of £649,771 basic per season compared to £466,556 last season.

Here's how the squads break down according to transfer fee.
