Rangers "fear" they will be unable to re-sign Vaclav Cerny this summer, according to a new report
The Czech winger impressed during a loan spell in Glasgow and has now caught the club’s interest again, just 12 months after leaving Wolfsburg for Besiktas in a €5 million deal.
Now, the Daily Record reports that Rangers have made tentative enquiries regarding a possible transfer for the 28-year-old.
Cerny had wanted to remain in Scotland but Rangers, under the leadership of then-sporting director Kevin Thelwell and boss Russell Martin, decided to pursue other targets.
This decision is now considered a "misstep" in their recent transfer dealings.

While Cerny is understood to be open to a return, Rangers would face financial difficulties in securing his signature.
Besiktas are under no pressure to sell, despite having signed Leandro Trossard in a £17 million deal and being linked with Ghana international Abdul Fatawu.
Cerny’s current contract, which has three years remaining, is worth approximately £45,000 a week.
Any move for Cerny would prove financially challenging for Rangers. Even a loan deal would stretch their wage structure.
As such, a deal seems unlikely unless there is a significant change in circumstances.
