Rangers v St Johnstone Scottish Cup quarter-final rescheduled for live TV coverage

Rangers’ Scottish Cup quarter-final tie against St Johnstone has been moved for live TV coverage.

Steven Gerrard ’s side booked their place in the last eight with a 2-0 victory over rivals Celtic in yesterday’s fourth round derby clash at Ibrox.

Goals from Steven Davis and and a Jonjoe Kenny own goal ensured a first trophy-less season for the Hoops since 2009/10.

St Johnstone set up the last eight encounter with a straightforward 2-0 win over League One Clyde the day before.

The pair now go head-to-head in the all Premiership tie at Ibrox on Sunday for a place in the last four.

The tie will now kick-off at 5.30 pm after being selected for live broadcast on Premier Sports.

Rangers have a domestic double in their sights after already wrapping up a first Premiership title in a decade this season.

The Scottish Cup hasn’t been kind to Gerrard though. He’s yet to make it beyond the quarter-finals, having been dumped out by Aberdeen and Hearts in the last two seasons.

Now the red hot favourites to lift the trophy in May after eliminating Celtic, the pressure is on to first of all reach the last four against a stubborn Saints side, who themselves last won the trophy in 2014 and already have the Betfred Cup in the cabinet this season.
