Rangers v Feyenoord game sneak TV feed on laptop at Dutch Parliament sparks row

A senior Dutch politician has apologised after he was caught watching Thursday’s Rangers v Feyenoord match during a parliamentary meeting.

Justice minister Ferdinand Grapperhaus was spotted taking in the Europa League clash at Ibrox on his laptop.

He was sitting alongside Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, an environment minister, while prime minister Mark Rutte spoke during a debate on the Dutch national budget.

But TV cameras caught the pair keeping an eye on the match and Grapperhaus has now admitted the blunder and offered an apology.

The issue has caused a rumpus in the Netherlands with calls for the pair to quit.

Van Nieuwenhuizen – the minister for infrastructure and water management – appeared on Dutch TV and said: “I shouldn’t have done that.”

Grapperhaus, 59, added: “You shouldn’t blame the other minister – she was kind of ignited by me.”
