Rangers v Celtic gets new date as Sky Sports move Old Firm clash for TV

The first Old Firm game of the season has been moved to Sunday, August 29 to be shown live on TV.

The game will see Steven Gerrard and Ange Postecoglou go head-to-head for the first time and will be shown on Sky Sports after the broadcaster selected it.

The game had initially been announced for Saturday, August 28, but has now been given a new kick-off time.

It could be one of Rangers ' first games with a full crowd if Nicola Sturgeon's plan for full 'freedom' from Covid-19 restrictions being cleared on August 9 goes ahead.

It's one of three Rangers games which will be shown on TV in August with the opening day clash with Livingston at Ibrox being shown with a 1.30pm kick-off.

The clash with Dundee United a week later will also be shown before the Old Firm game at the end of the same month.

There are also two Celtic games to be shown, including the derby clash.

Postecoglou's first league game against Hearts has already been decided for an 8pm kick-off at Tyncastle.

That game will see the Hoops have their first away game to start the season in a decade.
