The 22-year-old's injury comes with the Rangers Review understanding that a loan move for Jayden Meghoma, 20, is on the club's shortlist of possible left-back signings.
The Brentford left-back is one of several possible signings for Rangers.
James Penrice is also an option, although AEK Athens are thought to be keen on a permanent deal for him.
The club are searching for a new left-back, a position targeted before Rommens' injury.
Dujon Sterling is expected to play left-back in Thursday's Europa League tie against Jagellonia.
Rangers are also hoping to bring in a new right-back before the transfer window closes.
Club Brugge's Hugo Siquet and Aston Villa's Kosta Nedeljkovic are being considered.

A move for Siquet is believed to be complicated by Manchester United's interest in Brugge full-back Joaquin Seys.
