However, Russell Martin's side have won the race to sign Cornelius.
Sky Sports report that the player has passed his medical ahead of the switch from France to Glasgow.
The 27-year-old also has the versatility to play at left-back.

Cornelius came off the bench last night in the French side’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Lyon.
