Derek Cornelius is edging closer towards his move to Rangers.
The Canada international will move to Ibrox on deadline day from Ligue 1 giants Marseille.
Cremonese, who sit third in Serie A currently, were also keen on the centre-back.
However, Russell Martin's side have won the race to sign Cornelius.
Sky Sports report that the player has passed his medical ahead of the switch from France to Glasgow.
The 27-year-old also has the versatility to play at left-back.
