Rangers transfer target Jack Simpson has 'made up his mind' on Ibrox switch says Bournemouth boss

Bournemouth boss Jason Tindall says Jack Simpson has ‘made his mind up” over moving to Rangers.

Steven Gerrard is trying to sign the defender and teammate Nnamdi Ofoborh on pre-contracts.

It’s expected deals for the pair should be confirmed sooner rather than later, and Tindall is resigned to losing Simpson who he says has made his decision.

“Obviously the Rangers thing is still going on,” he told the Dorset Echo. "I think Jack’s made his mind up in terms of that’s where he wants to go and play his football.

“I think that one is pretty much going to happen. Nnamdi I think is in a similar position.

“I’ve got such a big squad to choose from. The likes of Jaidon Anthony, Gav Kilkenny and the other young guys – I think with their future firmly here at the football club, sometimes you have to give that priority.”

If agreements are in place for next season, Rangers could still move to bring the pair to Ibrox this month, especially if they aren’t going to feature for The Cherries.

And Tindall didn’t appear averse to the idea of them moving to the Scottish Premiership leaders early if their departures are rubber stamped for the summer anyway.

“It’s a possibility. It’s something that has happened in the past 24-48 hours in a sense of how quickly that’s moved on.

“What happens in the next 24-48 hours, who knows? It’s football, things move very quickly but it’s something that’s obviously not completely in our control.

“But if they do (come in earlier) and there’s an opportunity there, then I’m sure we will look at it.”

Meanwhile, Rangers youngster Cammy Palmer has completed a permanent move to Linfield after a stint on loan at Clyde.
