Rangers transfer news roundup as Josh Maja drops future hint while 3 clubs join Haji Wright signing race

It's set to be a busy summer for Michael Beale with planning well underway for next season at Rangers.

Fans are keen to put this season behind them after Beale failed to bring a piece of silverware to Ibrox during his first campaign to step into the hot seat, with the task of chasing Celtic top of the agenda next term. Kieran Dowell looks set to arrive from Norwich City, but with the likes of Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Allan McGregor there will be plenty more new faces needed before the new term kicks off.

A name that has been doing the rounds is Bordeaux frontman Josh Maja. The Nigerian international signed for Bordeaux in a £3.5 million deal four years ago, but after an impressive campaign in Ligue 2 - where he has netted 16 goals so far this term - the 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season.

He snapped up the Player of the Month award for the French second tier - and speaking to the club website hinted that his future at the club could be based on promotion to the top flight. The club currently sit in the promotion places - but hold a narrow three point lead over third-placed Metz.

Asked about the award, he admitted he was concentrating on reaching Ligue 1 next term: I think it's thanks to the coach, the staff, my teammates but also thanks to the fans and the efforts I made during the season. I'm happy to score regularly and help the team.

"However, for me the most important thing is to help the club find the place that suits it: in Ligue 1. I am essentially focused on this objective, so if we reach the rise, it is at this moment- there that I would be fully happy and satisfied."

Reports in England also suggest that Rangers are keen on signing Karlan Grant from English Championship side West Bromwich Albion as they look to revamp the frontline. And former Celtic hero Peter Grant reckons the striker could be a success in the Scottish Premiership.

However, he told Go Radio the 25-year-old needs to kickstart after going off the boil after initially being "hot property" at the Hawthorns following his £15m move from Huddersfield. The Parkhead legend said: "He did very well in England for a period of time.

"Karlan was at Huddersfield then West Brom, and started like a house on fire. After a change of manager they didn't play the same way and he didn't get as many opportunities and that had an affect on him.

"He is not the same as Roofe, but he reminds me of him. He has that work ethic and likes to get in the box. He is similar to that type. For a while he was hot property at West Brom. He is not the biggest but he knows where the back of the net is."

Reports in Turkey also claim that Rangers have had a £7m offer rejected by Antalyaspor frontman Haji Wright. According to Turkish journalist Salim Manav a package for the 25-year-old has been knocked back by the Super Lig club is holding out for a total of £8.5m.

Antalyaspor appear to be hoping to spark a bidding war for the United States forward. Turkish outlet Hurriyet claim Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray are all considering an approach.

In terms of outgoings, Ryan Kent is set to leave as a free agent this summer. Fenerbahce have been touted as a leading contender but the winger is reportedly attracting interest in Belgium.

Voetbalnieuws have named Club Brugge as an interested party. Anderlecht and Royal Antwerp are also said to be keen on the forward.
