Rangers transfer news: Steven Gerrard Derby link response, Sheyi Ojo deal confirmed and Joe Aribo latest

Rangers returned to training on Tuesday with the one thing players hate.

The dreaded bleep test was out in force at the Hummel Training Centre but Rangers have been beating the buzzer all summer after a fast start to signing season.

And the club also moved quickly to shoot down rumours over boss Steven Gerrard departing Ibrox anytime soon.

Reports down south suggested Derby were eyeing up the 39-year-old as a replacement for Frank Lampard, if the Englishman completes his expected move to Chelsea.

But Rangers came out fighting, as they issued a strong-worded response and warned any potential suitors that their boss is only focused on bringing silverware to Govan.

The club  said: "Let's get one or two things clear. Our manager has not been approached and he remains one hundred per cent committed to the job he has here."

Rangers haven't been wasting any time in completing transfers and Sheyi Ojo became the fifth player to pen a deal at Ibrox.

The 21-year-old knows what Gerrard is all about and is determined to make an instant impact in Glasgow after penning a season-long loan.

And the player reckons he's found the perfect club to make an impact with as he looks to come of age under the tutelage of an Anfield legend.

He said: "The last 18 months to two years I've not really had that consistent opportunity of football, and when I heard Rangers were involved, I spoke to my representative, the gaffer Steven Gerrard and I spoke to Liverpool as well.

"I think all the parties thought this was the right destination for me and my career this season."

Meanwhile, Joe Aribo is expected to complete his move to Rangers in the coming days.

The former Charlton attacker was much sought-after but the Light Blues are in pole position to conclude a deal for the 24-year-old.

George Edmundson is another Rangers are hopeful of getting over the line.

Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie, Greg Stewart and Steven Davis had already signed up as the Ibrox side get set for their pre-season trip to Portugal.
