Steven Gerrard was warned Rangers fans not to expect a late flurry of transfer activity over the last few days of the transfer window.
The Ibrox club have until Monday to finalise their squad until January and Gerrard has already added six new faces, including big money deals for Ianis Hagi and Cedric Itten.
But despite qualifying for the Europa League group stages with an excellent 2-0 win over Galatasaray on Thursday, the Gers boss insists that doesn’t suddenly give them licence to go out and make multiple signings over the next few days.
“Nothing has changed in terms of what we’re trying to do in the last few days of the window,” he said.
“Does qualifying give us more flexibility ahead of the deadline on Monday? It’s a difficult question to answer, probably better suited to other people above me at this football club.
“The board, myself and Ross [Wilson] are still trying to add the person in the position we feel we need before the window shuts.
“But we’ll have to see how the next three days pan out in terms of ins and outs. It’s difficult to control because you never know what’s going to land on your desk and whether you are able to get someone over the line when you are trying to make it happen.
“There certainly won’t be (multiple) additions. If we do well in the next couple of days there might be an addition.”
