Rangers transfer news and headlines including Zungu U-Turn and Man City fee confirmed for youngster

Here are your Rangers news headlines on Tuesday, September 29.

Rangers revive interest in Bongani Zungu

Rangers have reportedly revived their interest in Bongani Zungu.

A deal for the Amiens midfielder broke down earlier in the summer as the Ibrox club looked to bring in reinforcements in the middle of the park.

Steven Gerrard has since looked at alternatives, but the Scotsman claim he is back on their radar and reports of a failed medical were unfounded.

Zungo is keen on leaving the Ligue 1 side and his contract runs out next summer.

Mebude joins Man City

Rangers youngster Dire Mebude has joined Manchester City after deciding to leave Ibrox.

The Light Blues will receive a fee for the teenager, younger brother of striker Dapo, and have inserted a series of clauses in the deal as they look to profit from the sale later down the line.

Mulholland said: “We wish Dire well at Manchester City. Ross and I will take the decision to trade players out when we believe a deal represents value for Rangers and fits in with the overall planning that we have in mind for of our squads.

"That is the case with Dire and he leaves with our best wishes."

Trio sign new deals

Rangers trio Adam Devine, Aaron Lyall and Cole McKinnon have all penned new deals at the club.

The youngsters have all signed two-year extensions until May 2022 as they commit their future at Ibrox.

They will be apart of the B team led by Kevin Thomson and Brian Gilmour.

Mulholland added: "We are delighted that three bright young talents have committed their futures to Rangers.  All of the players have been involved at international level over the last couple of years and have chosen Rangers despite interest from clubs in England and abroad.

“We are really clear that players must be desperate to play for a club like Rangers and agreements with all three were reached really quickly."
