Rangers transfer latest on Ryan Kent as EPL side consider 'reigniting interest' in Ibrox star

Ryan Kent could be the subject of late English Premier League interest with Leeds United considering whether to go back in for the winger, according to a report.

The Rangers star is in the final 12 months of his current contract and is yet to strike extended terms with Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side. The Elland Road outfit have been long-term admirers of the attacker and they could now return to the table, reports the Daily Mail.

The 25-year-old was wanted by Leeds back in 2020. But the player was happy to remain at Ibrox under then boss Steven Gerrard - who brought him to the club initially on a loan deal from Liverpool, before shelling out big money to make the move permanent.

The EPL side then plotted a move last summer but again their efforts proved unsuccessful. Kent has been a key man for Rangers since his arrival at the club and has been a star for them on the big stage.

He was influential in the run to the Europa League Final last season and now has the chance to test himself against the elite clubs and players in the Champions League this season. Rangers dumped out PSV to reach the group stage where they will come up against Kent's former employers Liverpool in a Battle of Britain clash, as well as Dutch giants Ajax and Serie A outfit Napoli.

Dining at Europe's top table could be enough to entice him to stay put, with a big couple of days to run in the summer transfer window. Former Manchester United and current Leeds winger Dan James is attracting surprise interest from Tottenham, so boss Jesse Marsch would be keen on recruiting a replacement should they allow him to leave for Spurs on loan.

Everton are also said to be keen on the Wales international as a replacement for Anthony Gordon.
