Rangers transfer latest as Steven Gerrard makes Ryan Kent admission and rules out major exits

Steven Gerrard admits he's moved on from Ryan Kent as Liverpool refuse to budge over former Ibrox loan favourite.

And the Rangers boss is adamant there will be no major outgoings before the window closes.

The Anfield club have ruled out another loan for the winger - who was a huge hit last term - preferring a sale to the highest bidder.

There had been some speculation that stance would soften with time running out to find a buyer, but Gerrard insists he's drawn a line under the saga as he prepares for a quiet end to the summer.

He did confirm, however, that Jake Hastie is set for a loan move to League One, as revealed by Record Sport.

Gerrard said: “ Liverpool 's stance on the Ryan Kent situation stays the same, we move on and we look forward.

“Everyone knows my thoughts on Ryan as a player. Nothing changes in terms of our recruitment, if a player becomes available we will be interested.

"We made it pretty clear that nothing major will be happening in the last week of the window in terms of major outgoings because it is so difficult to replace in the short-term.

"There is a chance that Jake Hastie may go on loan to League One in England, I think this could be a good move for him.

"We will wait to see what happens in the next 48 hours in terms of any other outgoings."

Gerrard addressed the media after Rangers were drawn against Porto, Young Boys and Feyenoord in the Europa League group stage.

A 91st minute Alfredo Morelos header saw of Legia Warsaw on Thursday night, sending Rangers into the tournament for the second successive season.

"I think it is a fantastic draw, some really tasty games in there and some nice countries to go and visit. We want to give a good account of ourselves and make our fans proud.

"We know we are the underdogs in the group but we want to go and surprise a few people, that's what we will try and do. We will do everything we can to try and get out the group.

"It's always nice to see a last-minute winner going in but I thought it was deserved, we were aggressive and positive and it was a reward for our play. The players deserve a lot of credit.

"You just look at the draw and the number of quality sides with Champions League experience, it is fantastic to be part of."
