Rangers transfer latest as Sekou Gassama '£2.7m bid made' with 3 striking options linked with Ibrox switch

Rangers have reportedly launched a £2.7m bid for Valladollid striker Sekou Gassama.

The 25-year-old is currently in loan at Fuenlabrada in the second tier of Spanish football but reports in Italy suggest the Spanish-born Senegalese is wanted by Rangers.

He’s netted three goals in three games after joining on loan and has had a varied career so far.

Gassama has turned out for 11 clubs in seven years, including a string of B teams. He started his youth career at Barcelona before eventually turning pro with Algeria B in the second division and then had spells with Valladolid B, Rayo Vallecano B and Bergantinos.

He then dropped further down to play for Badalona and Saint Andrea and it was at the latter he started making a name for himself and earned a move back to Algeria.

A season in the B team yielded 15 goals in 23 games and he was then handed a regular role in the first team before another switch to Vallodlid.

Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb claim Rangers face competition from Hertha Berlin but Steven Gerrard’s men have reportedly made the first move.

Alfredo Morelos ' future has been the subject of great debate but it's unlikely any new arrival would be sought if the Colombian remains in place alongside Jermain Defoe.

The Rangers boss and sporting director Ross Wilson are determined to strengthen the Ibrox squad and Gassama joins the list of strikers the club are reportedly eyeing.

Livingston striker Lyndon Dykes is one of those, although Gary Holt insists no bids have been made for his star man.

Anderlecht striker Kemar Roofe has again been linked while Lyle Taylor is a free agent soon and believed to be interesting Gerrard.

The other player to be added to the list is 21-year-old Terem Moffi who currently plays in Belgium for Kortrijk.

The youngster only moved in January from Riteria in Lithuania but netted four goals before the shutdown.

They face competition from Galatasaray and Lorient for the Nigerian - according to reports in his homeland.
