Rangers transfer exits predicted as pundit explains 'good stage' theory for two fringe stars

Alan Hutton says it's natural for Rangers youngsters to want more consistent game time away from Ibrox after seeing the success of Adam Devine in the first team.

The 19-year-old defender was thrust in to Michael Beale's squad early on in his Ibrox era with Borna Barisic stationed at the World Cup and big summer signing Ridvan Yilmaz injured. The youngster impressed as part of a host of Auchenhowie academy products who have featured in the last year including highly-rated Alex Lowry and now Forest Green Rovers star Charlie McCann.

But two names looking close to the Ibrox exit door are Kai Kennedy and Josh McPake, both have been in search of more game time. McPake has been a standout for Queens Park on loan and the Spiders could want a permanent deal while Kennedy has reported interest from clubs in the USA and Dundee.

Hutton insists an Ibrox reshuffle is nothing to be concerned about and says now is the time for the youngsters to get experience. He told Football Insider: “I think you always want to see that.

“You look at the likes of [Adam] Devine who is in and about the squad at the moment. Beale obviously wants to bring young talent through. McPake and Kennedy have been on loan for a long time now and when they have been within the group they have not really burst into the first team.

“It is probably a good stage for them to go and find football elsewhere.“
