Rangers transfer exit option for Robby McCrorie as two Premiership clubs 'eye' move

Robby McCrorie is wanted by St Mirren and St Johnstone this summer, according to reports.

The Rangers keeper is currently third in the pecking order at Ibrox with veteran stopper Allan McGregor and Jon McLaughlin both ahead of him in the rankings. McGregor, 40, penned a new deal this summer meaning the situation doesn't look like it will change in a hurry for the 24-year-old, who only tasted two first team outings last term at Ibrox.

Manchester United have been linked with the Light Blues star with a goalkeeping situation needing addressed at Old Trafford. He's previously had stints away from Rangers on loan at Berwick Rangers, Morton, Queen of the South and Livingston and could be set for another spell away from Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men. The Daily Record report that Stephen Robinson and his Buddies are weighing up a loan move as they face a nervous wait over the fitness of Trevor Carson.

The Scottish Sun also report that Callum Davidson would like to bring him to Perth as he bids to replace long-serving No1 Zander Clark, who left McDiarmid Park at the end of the season.

The new Premiership season gets underway in less than two weeks time and the goalkeeper - who has played for Scotland at every level below the senior squad - could want his future sorted out before then.

Both St Mirren and St Johnstone have already began the 2022/23 season with action in the Premier Sports Cup.

It's been a busy summer of transfer activity at Rangers with five new faces already in the door with a sixth on the horizon.

John Souttar, Antonio Colak, Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo and Malik Tillman have all arrived with Joe Aribo going the other way.

Calvin Bassey is on the verge of a huge big-money transfer to Ajax with Liverpool's Ben Davies set to replace the versatile defender as a quick-fire replacement.
