Barry Ferguson has urged Rangers to move for Vaclav Cerny if the winger becomes available this summer, insisting a return to Ibrox would be a “no-brainer.”
The Czech Republic international impressed during his 2024/25 loan spell, scoring 18 goals in all competitions and quickly establishing himself as a key attacking outlet.
Writing in the Daily Record, former Rangers captain Ferguson said: “I worked with him during my time in charge and it’s a transfer that should have happened last summer. I’d take him in a heartbeat. I liked everything about Vash.”

Ferguson believes the 28-year-old’s mentality and match-winning ability make him an ideal fit for a return to Glasgow. “He’s got a bit about him,” he added. “When things weren’t going right, he wasn’t happy. He had a bit of anger in him, which I really like.
“The thing about Cerny is, he’s a game-changer. His numbers were really good at Rangers. When we got him on it, he was on fire for us.
“And the beauty of getting someone like Vash back is that he knows the club already, he understands it. He wouldn’t need a settling-in period.
"So if he’s available and there’s a chance, it’s a no-brainer for me.”
