Rangers to face Olympiacos at Ibrox as Michael Beale pre-season fixture diary complete

Rangers will round off their pre-season fixture schedule with a clash against Olympiacos.

The Greek giants will visit Ibrox later this month as Michael Beale and his new-look squad gear up for the start of the Scottish Premiership campaign and their attempts to reach the Champions League group stage once again with two rounds of qualifying to safely navigate to book a ticket at Europe's top table.

The Super League side will visit Scotland for the clash in Govan on Wednesday, July 26 with the game kicking off at 7.45pm. The visitors will provide another strong test for the Light Blues, with matches also confirmed against English Premier League outfit Newcastle United and German duo Hamburg and Hoffenheim.

The friendly will prove to be the FIRST meeting between the two sides with the Greek outfit hearing up for a Europa League campaign. It will be another chance for the supporters to get along and get a look in person at the new recruits and how things are shaping up ahead of the season ahead as Rangers bid to end Celtic's domestic dominance. Ange Postecoglou has left for Tottenham but Brendan Rodgers is back for a second spell in the Parkhead dugout.

Beale has already added five new faces to his squad this summer to date with Cyriel Dessers expected to make that six very soon. Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland penned pre-contracts while Abdallah Sima arrived for the season on loan from Brighton. Sam Lammers was a purchase from Atalanta in Serie A with the newbies heading to Germany with the rest of the squad later this week for a training camp.

On their return, Allan McGregor's testimonial match with Newcastle will take place a fortnight today[July 18] with Hamburg arriving at Ibrox four days later on July 22.

It's then Olympicacos also in Govan on July 26 before Rangers return to Germany to face Hoffenheim on July 29.
