Rangers have announced Uzbekistani champions Lokomotiv Tashkent as their opponents for a friendly in Dubai in January.
The Ibrox side head over for a warm weather training camp ahead of the second half of the season and will then play the fixture on Saturday, January 11.
The match has been arranged in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council and will kick off at 11am in the UK (3pm in Dubai).
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard admits he is looking forward to the game and believes it will be a tough one for his side.
He said: “We are looking forward to the game against Lokomotiv Tashkent at the end of our warm-weather training camp in Dubai.
"The match will be an important part of our preparations for the second half of the season and we expect it to be a competitive friendly and good test for our squad.”
The club have also announced that they will host a brunch in Dubai on January 10 for fans who are over there.
That will see a question and answer session with Gerrard, his assistant Gary McAllister and various first team players.
Tashkent head coach Andrey Federov insists it will be an honour for his side take on a club the size of Rangers as they prepare for the start of their new season.
He said: “It is a huge honour to lead our team to play a club with such great success and history as Rangers Football Club and it’s an exciting moment for our supporters and the Uzbekistan football community.
“As we finalise our 2020 pre-season preparations, there is fierce competition for places in my starting eleven and this match will allow the players to make a real statement of their intent.”
Celtic will also be in Dubai for their winter training camp, having travelled there in the last two seasons also.
