Rangers 'to discuss personal terms' with South African midfielder Bongani Zungu

Rangers are believed to have been given the go-ahead to begin discussing personal terms with Bongani Zungu.

The Amiens midfielder has been capped 29 times by South Africa, scoring four times.

It was reported in June that Steven Gerrard was keen on the 27-year-old, and they appear to be closing in on a deal.

According to The Scotsman, relegated Amiens have allowed Rangers to begin talks with Zungu over a long-term deal.

They say the Ibrox club would be expected to make an offer of around £3.6m in order for the French side to part with him.

Alfredo Morelos, meanwhile, has spoken about his future amid reports that he's agreed personal terms with Ligue 1 club Lille.

Speaking to Win Sports, he said: “There is a lot of speculation in the press about my transfer to another team but there is still nothing concrete about my departure from Rangers.

“There are clubs that have spoken, but formally there is no agreement. I will take the decision and I hope it will work out for the best if I decide to go to a more competitive league.

“If they make me choose between the European leagues, I like them all, it’s up to me to make a decision. Now I am waiting because there is nothing concrete, it will be known when it is fixed."
