Rangers to demand SFA answers over Alfredo Morelos 'goal'

Rangers will write to the SFA looking for answers regarding Kevin Clancy's performance in the Old Firm defeat to Celtic this afternoon.

Sky Sports report the Ibrox club are specifically vexed about the decision to disallow a goal from Alfredo Morelos early in the first half.

Ange Postecoglou's side won 3-2 in a closely fought match that was packed with incident, not least a flashpoint early in the game following a tussle between the Colombian and full-back Alistair Johnston.

Cameras appeared to show a give-and-take clash between the pair before Morelos grappled free to slot the ball home but the strike was ruled out following a VAR review by officials Nick Walsh and Daniel McFarlane.

Michael Beale was upset at the decision and singled it out in various post-match press conferences.

He said: I'm disappointed in one or two decisions from the officials. The VAR officials. Not Kevin on the pitch because I think if you look at the goal that’s disallowed for Alfredo Morelos.

"You look at the number on the back of his shirt, why is their guy not trying to play the ball? Only Alfredo's trying to play the ball, they both got a hold of each other, but Alfredo's numbers twisted around his back. I think it's a goal. I think it's a soft one."
