Jamshedpur have brought in Greg Stewart from Rangers - and former Motherwell captain Peter Hartley says it's providing belief that he can captain the Men of Steel to Indian Super League success.
The 33-year-old left Motherwell last year and is now captain of the ISL club managed by Owen Coyle. Their season begins on November 21st against East Bengal.
Last season brought a sixth-placed finish but improvements have been made to try and reach the league's top four play-off positions, and a title shot.
Stewart won the Premiership with Rangers last season, and after a few conversations around this season, Motherwell's ex-skipper is convinced he and his team can achieve big things with the former Gers star involved.
Speaking on the Lanarkshire Live Sport Podcast, Hartley said: "We have improved ten-fold this season and Greg Stewart is the cherry on the cake. He's that number 10 we were looking for.
"I have no idea how the gaffer has managed to get him in. It's absolutely fantastic. What people don't understand when they are playing in Britain is that they are stuck in the UK bubble.
"Football outside of that is massively underrated. My eyes were opened last season. I wasn't here for a holiday but there are foreigners here who would walk into top 10 Championship clubs.
"So we needed to get a guy like Greg. Nobody will understand Greg's accent over here, I've told him to slow down!
"He's an asset and I don't want to put any pressure on him. But I couldn't believe we'd signed him as I'd played against him in Scotland and he was torture to face.
"He rang me before he came over and he was talking about wanting to do something new. He was talking about wanting to try something new and he's always wanted to play abroad.
"The manager has given him the opportunity and he's took it, just like me. It's an unbelievable training ground and the club is ran the right way. Every game is on TV to a country of around 1 billion. It give us all a lift.
"The gaffer puts us through a pre-season of hell but it's good because you feel amazing at the end of it. Minimum requirement this season is the top four - but I'd like to get the shield, which is first place."
