Hamilton head coach Stuart Taylor insists new signing Kai Kennedy must prove he’s worthy of starting for Accies after arriving from Rangers.
The Scotland youth international joined the Championship side on loan last Friday and made his debut against Dunfermline – where he spent the first half of this season – a day later.
Ryan Dow’s goal before half-time saw Hamilton go down 1-0 in Fife but Taylor was pleased to fast-track Kennedy’s debut.
While he comes highly-rated from Rangers, the Accies boss warned a starting spot isn’t guaranteed for the winger.
He said: “We are really happy. We’re trying to improve the squad that we’ve got and trying to get players who fit into how we play, trying to improve every aspect of us. I think Kai does that.
“I think he will do really, really well for us. He’s a great addition to the squad. I thought he worked really, really hard when he came on. It’s always hard to go back to a team you’ve been at.
“Kai came in late on Friday so he needs to find out what our identity is, what we do and how we go about it.
“Once he knows that he’ll go and get his chance.”
