A Rangers supporters club in Bo’ness have hit out at allegations they were responsible for sectarian vandalism over the weekend.
Their statement comes after the words ‘Catholics will be killed’ were painted on a building in the town during the early hours of Saturday morning.
A police probe has now been launched into the vile slur.
Posting on Facebook, Bo’ness True Blues said: “After a very busy weekend, we would like to correct many assumptions made on social media over the past few days which are simply not true.
"Bo'ness True Blues as a club were not involved in any sectarian activity across the town.
"They were not responsible for any religious comments or activities.
"We would appreciate the people Bo'ness recognise the support we give to various community projects and charities across the local area, which are inclusive of various religions, race and beliefs."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing following a report of a sectarian vandalism to a building in Borrowstoun Crescent, Bo'ness overnight Friday and into Saturday 19/20 March."
