Rangers supporters face Fenerbahce travel chaos as SLO confirms last-minute change

Rangers supporters are facing potential travel chaos for the Europa League match against Fenerbahce.

The Ibrox side take on Fenerbahce in the round of 16 of the competition with the first leg in Istanbul on Thursday, March 6 before the return fixture on Thursday, March 13.

Just over 2,000 Rangers fans will be inside the Ulker Stadium for the UEFA contest this week.

However, a major change to travel arrangements has left supporters scrambling after local authorities in Istanbul changed the pick-up point for coaches to the match.

Rangers fans were originally informed they would board coaches from Sultanahmet Square to the stadium.

However, due to a religious festival taking place nearby, the coach pick-up point has been moved five kilometres away to Gezi Park at Taksim Square.

Supporters have been urged to use the mandatory coaches to travel to the game and avoid going by public transport.

A statement published on the Rangers SLO X account read: "Supporters travelling to Istanbul should note the coach pick-up point has today been amended by the local authorities.

"This is due to a religious festival taking place near Sultanahmet Square.

"The mandatory coaches will now leave from Gezi Park at Taksim Square.

"We recognise this late change may cause inconvenience, and unfortunately, the club has no control over it.

"We urge all travelling supporters to plan accordingly and thank you again for your understanding."
