Rangers suffer Europa League blow as Feyenoord star Steven Berghuis declared fit for Ibrox clash

Feyenoord have been given a double striking boost with star man Steven Berghuis fit to play against Rangers while Nicolai Jorgensen made his comeback after three months out.

Berghuis missed the 3-2 win over Ado Den Haag on Sunday with a knee knock but Jaap Stam insists he will be in Glasgow for Thursday night's Europa League clash.

Jorgensen made his return as a substitute from a knee operation in the same game and admits he's desperate to repay the fans with a goal at Ibrox.

He said: "I got really emotional because of the reception they gave me. Even when I was warming up they were cheering me.

"It's been tough for me with my injuries and I was just delighted to get back playing again.

"The Feyenoord fans are brilliant and I would love to score for them on Thursday against Rangers at Ibrox as a way of repaying them for their support."

Rangers could be going up against a £7million defender with Marcos Senesi set to be handed a debut.

The Argentine centre back has just joined Feyenoord from San Lorenzo but was left on the bench for the Den Haag clash.

But the Rotterdam side could throw him in at Ibrox to compete with either Alfredo Morelos or Jermain Defoe.

Stam opted not to hand a debut to Argentinean defender Senesi, who was just signed for the bumper fee from San Lorenzo on transfer deadline day, in the weekend win after he only returned from international duty a couple of days before the game.

And he admits he has a decision to make about whether to pick him to start against Steven Gerrard's men.

Stam said: "We have to start quietly with Marcos. He has to get used to another country, a different culture, different players and a different way of playing. We are careful with that.

"He's trained with us, but I thought with the travelling it would be asking a lot to start him at the weekend.

"But he's certainly available for Rangers and I will have to decide whether to play him."
