Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos 'targeted' by Porto as speculation intensifies regarding his future

FC Porto are believed to be interested in signing Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian striker has been left out of Steven Gerrard's side for their last two matches. He was an unused substitute for Sunday's 2-0 win over Hamilton Accies, and was left out of the squad entirely the previous weekend when Rangers beat Kilmarnock 2-0 at Ibrox.

The 24-year-old has been mentioned in connection with numerous clubs this year, including Inter Milan, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.

Morelos has repeatedly been linked with Lille, and it was reported earlier this summer that he had agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 side.

Portuguese outlet tvi24 have today reported that Morelos is Porto's "latest target".

The Colombian striker scored both home and away for Rangers against the Primeira Liga side in last season's Europa League, and today's report suggests he made an impression.

After leaving Morelos out of his squad for the Kilmarnock match, Steven Gerrard said: “If I see people who have taken their eye off the ball and are not really hungry to get this football club results, I have to make  decisions and Alfredo made it easy for me.”
