Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos 'targeted' by Lille in £15m bid

Lille are reported to be targeting Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian striker played in Rangers' 4-0 win over Motherwell at Ibrox on Wednesday night, but continues to be the subject of speculation linking him with a move away from Glasgow.

Team-mate Jermain Defoe was taken off injured, with manager Steven Gerrard having already been keen to sign another striker.

Morelos is the club's key asset, with the Daily Mail now reporting that Ligue 1 side Lille are prepared to spend £15m on him.

They have the funds to afford such a move, having raised £60m from the sale of striker Victor Osimhen to Napoli.

Morelos has also been linked with the side from Naples, as well as Serie A rivals Lazio, AC Milan and Bologna.

The 24-year-old has scored 77 goals in 137 games for Rangers since arriving at Ibrox in 2017.

After the friendly win against Motherwell, Gerrard told Premier Sports:  "The only disappointment from tonight is Jermain's injury.

"[We don't know] the extent, but we know what it is. We believe it's a hamstring [injury] but until we scan it we won't know how long it's going to be and the extent."
