Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos 'targeted' by AC Milan

Alfredo Morelos is reportedly a target for AC Milan.

The Rangers striker has been linked with numerous clubs during his time at Ibrox, including Bologna, Everton and Atletico Madrid.

It was reported in July that the 24-year-old had agreed personal terms with Lille, but that move appears to be off after the Ligue 1 side had a bid for Morelos turned down by Rangers and signed Jonathan David from Gent.

According to Football Insider, Serie A giants Milan have now contacted Rangers with a view to signing the Colombian.

Morelos has scored 79 goals in 140 games for Steven Gerrard's side, opening his account for this season with a double on Sunday against St Mirren in a 3-0 win.

Rangers won by the same scoreline at Ibrox on Wednesday night against St Johnstone, but Gerrard wasn't entirely satisfied.

He said: “I thought we got really sloppy at 3-0. We let the game die instead of maintaining our standards. There is still a lot to work on.

"You probably think I’m a moaner but even though we won the game comfortably 3-0, we can still learn a lot collectively and as individuals.

"We can’t pick and choose when we want our standards to be good. We never played like a top team at 3-0, we let the game fizzle out.

"We complicated a game which should have been easily managed. The players know that a Rangers team 3-0 up has to show a little bit more style and class. I thought we were very sloppy."
