Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos drops transfer bombshell ahead of January window

Red-hot Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has given the clearest indication yet he could be ready to leave Scotland in the January transfer window.

The Colombian's goal-laden start to the new season has teams circling with Crystal Palace sending Dougie Freedman to run the rule over the 18-goal striker in the 1-1 draw with Hearts.

Morelos has spoken openly in the past about his desire to ply his trade in the Premier League and has once again reaffirmed his desire for a fresh challenge elsewhere, reports the Daily Record .

The 23-year-old, who is under contract until 2023,  has been a smash-hit since his £1million move from HJK Helsinki in 2017 with Steven Gerrard's guidance taking El Bufalo to the next level.

And now he admits his potential Ibrox exit could come sooner than expected.

He told Blu Radio in his homeland: “So far there is nothing official. There is a lot of speculation of teams things I've read on Twitter and stuff, but there's been nothing concrete, but if there is then I will let you know.

"I just need to continue doing things to the best of my ability and we will see now in the winter transfer window if there’s the chance to make a bigger move, to a much better and more competitive league.

"It would be good for me to keep improving, both for my game and my statistics to keep doing things the best I can."

And Morelos also reflected on his two-goal display against Ross County.

He added: "The small teams always want to make life difficult for the bigger ones but thank God we got the result we wanted.

"I managed to score two goals with which I continue adding and continuing with my scoring streak."

Morelos' reputation continues to grow with 10 goals already in Europe this season and with his ability to temper his petulance that led to five red cards last season.

The Ibrox side will be desperate to keep hold of their main man with Gerrard's side aiming to wrestle the title away from rivals Celtic.
