Rangers start title party early as 55th minute firework celebration brings Livingston game to a halt

Ruthless Rangers are closing in on the league title following their win over Livingston.

If they can couple their win in West Lothian with a win over St Mirren the pressure will be on Celtic to avoid dropping any points against Dundee United to prolong the inevitable.

However, fans outside the stadium got the party started early as when the game went into 55 minutes a fireworks display kicked off outside the Tony Macaroni Arena.

The spectacular scene forced whistler John Beaton to stop the game for around 90 seconds as debris and smoke covered the pitch.

The choice off 55 minutes by fans outside the ground marks the 55th league title that would be lifted by Steven Gerrard's side.

The Premiership clash was decided in the closing stages with Alfredo Morelos netting the only goal in the 87th minute.

It keeps Rangers unbeaten and extends their lead over Celtic to 18 points.
