Rangers stars go back to the old school as first team trio get creative in the car park

Team spirit goes a long way in football and the current Rangers team appear to possess that quality in spades.

Steven Gerrard 's side have raced out the blocks at the start of the season with Midtjylland up next tonight as the Ibrox side eye a Europa League playoff showdown with Legia Warsaw.

Rangers' success in the 90s was built on an unbreakable team spirit. Walter Smith's side spent as much time together away from the pitch as they did on it.

And Gerrard's current first team squad appear to be forging friendships by channelling childhood memories as they awaited roadside assistance.

American Matt Polster was on hand to capture Scott Arfield , Jon Flanagan and Andy Halliday enjoying some keepy-up in the Hummel Training Centre car park - a game enjoyed by youngsters up and down the country.

The USA international posted: "Car-school one touch during car problems."

There's a real enthusiasm sweeping around Ibrox at present and the trio were channelling their childhood as they put in some extra work ahead of the crunch clash with the Danes.

And Gerrard admitted recently he wants his players to forge bonds that last a lifetime.

He said: “I want my players to joke in the dressing-room and have a laugh when they come to work.

“It’s key that they all bond with each other. When I came to this place I heard stories that it was them and us, we and you. Success doesn’t come from that.

“From the top of the club to the bottom, everything needs to connect. Everyone needs to feel part of it.

“I encourage it, I like my team to be laughing and joking.

“When you see that on camera, when they’re messing with each other, it’s real.

“It’s not just for the cameras. It’s because there’s a connection there and because we have a good group of players.
