Danilo has given his take on Jefte's Rangers exit as the defender closes in on a £6 million move to Palmeiras.
The left-back is very close to a return to his homeland and the club are poised to make a significant profit on the six-figure fee they spent on him last season.
The deal is expected to go through imminently and the 21-year-old has been left out of the squad which will face Club Brugge in Champions League qualifying on Tuesday night.
Fellow Brazilian Danilo spoke at a press conference previewing the League Cup game against Alloa Athletic, and was quizzed on the situation.

He said: "I don't know, I see a lot of rumours. I speak to him as well, but I just don't know how the situation is, how far is it the negotiations between the clubs. I think I'll leave this with them.
"But if, I don't know if he leaves or not, and then just obviously, it's a hard part of you, you know, another Brazilian leaving. But I just don't know the situation, so I don't know if it's real or if it's finished or not. But if he goes, I just wish him all the best and yeah."
Asked if he has seen Jefte grow as a player and as a person during his time in Glasgow, he added: "100%. If you get the opportunity to be your first year the best left-back in the league, I think that means a lot. So, you grow as a player. So, I just see him every day and then see his development. So, he's still a young boy, but I just wish him the best for the future."
