Rangers star set to join Aberdeen as Pittodrie side look to bolster squad

Rangers midfielder Ross McCrorie is set to join Aberdeen as the Dons look to have beaten Hibernian to his signature.

The Ayrshire midfielder, who hails from Dailly, has agreed a loan deal with Derek McInnes' side, with an option to buy in place.

He is expected to have his medical in the Granite City as early as today.

Aberdeen are facing a squad crisis with eight of their stars facing bans due to breaching coronavirus lockdown rules.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard, speaking after their 0-0 draw with Livingston, said: “Ross is close. He has a couple of options on the table. Again, we are waiting for a decision really.”

Aberdeen have had three matches called off this season already and they are set to play a rescheduled Premiership clash with St Johnstone on Thursday night.
