Rangers star Scott Arfield has sent a good luck message to a kind-hearted boy who is taking on a mini-marathon for charity.
Football-daft Alfie Hadden, from The Murray in East Kilbride, will run 5K to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy UK.
The four-year-old decided to take on the trek for his aunt Emma – who battles with the muscle-weakening disease.
After spotting Alfie’s JustGiving page, the Ibrox favourite has sent on his well wishes to the youngster.
Dad Scott describes Arfield as his “hero” and admits he was nearly in tears after showing his son the message.
“He’s Scott Arfield daft,” he said. "He walks about kicking the ball off the wall and will do the wee salute; he’s totally Arfield daft.
“Once Scott Arfield saw the fundraiser he sent through the message.
“We got the message from him last night and I had to hold myself back from waking him up. We waited to show him it and showed him when he woke up.
“He was in so much shock and I think he was trying to hold back a bit of tears.
“Arfield is really his main man; he has a canvas of him and he doesn’t even want it up on the wall he just wants to walk about with it.

“To see him sending the video; I had tears in my eyes watching Alfie see it for the first time as well."
Scott revealed that big-hearted Alfie came up with the idea because he wanted to help more people with muscle conditions get wheelchairs.
The touching gesture was backed by mum Laura McEnroe and Scott, but he admits he didn’t imagine they would smash their initial £100 target - with the current total at over £1200.
Now the whole family are looking forward to the run, with sister Darcie, 2, to cross the finish line with Alfie.
“It’s Alfie’s auntie and she has had it since she was seven,” he added.
“Alfie has been great and will place stuff in her hands, and to help her get stuff, and do what he can.
“He was running to my brother’s house and we were talking about a sponsored walk, and straight away he said could he do that.
“Laura said of course he can, but we didn’t expect it.
“His words to Laura were ‘if I can get some money I’d buy a wheelchair for someone who can’t run’ - he’s four years old.
“It’s a bit mental that’s going through his head but it’s great to hear.
“We set it up and with £100 the target and obviously it’s got bigger and bigger; it’s just mental.”
