Rangers star on Ibrox 'dream' after stunning transfer links

With a season at Rangers under his belt, Jefte says playing for the club has been like a dream.

The talented left-back was signed from Fluminense last summer and it initially looked like he would be coming in as back-up to Ridvan Yilmaz. But with the Turk continuing to struggle with injury, Jefte has played the vast majority of games.

There are some obvious deficiencies in the 21-year-old's game, specifically the defensive side of it, but he has clear ability. Enough, certainly, to be linked with a stunning move to Chelsea.

But the Brazilian is enjoying his time at Ibrox, loving every second if it despite not yet getting his hands on any silverware.

He remains focused on improving his all-round games and soaking up experiences of playing in continental competition.

Jefte told Globo in his homeland: "My entire journey, since I arrived, has always been with the aim of trying to learn more and understand my position better. And what I should do on the field to help my teammates.

"Reaching the end of the season and seeing that it worked is gratifying. I managed to become a different player, a better player who learned more and understood more.

"This start to the year at Rangers has been wonderful, very special, even though our goal was to reach the finals and win titles, which unfortunately didn't happen.

"This season as a whole, I have been very happy. Every day I have spent with my teammates training and playing, I have learned a lot from them.

"What I'm experiencing is a dream, it's something I never imagined I'd experience so soon.

"Despite being only 21 years old, I played in a European competition against big clubs. I'm very happy and fulfilled with what I've done so far."
