Rangers star Glen Kamara has welcomed the police probe into ' racist abuse' allegedly aimed at him during Thursday's clash with Slavia Prague.
In a statement issued through his solicitor Aamer Anwar, he called Czech defender Ondrej Kudela's alleged comments 'deeply offensive, provocative and racist'.
Police Scotland announced today they were investigating an incident involving Kudela who is alleged to have made the statements during the Light Blue's Europa tie on Thursday.
However, Kudela insists that he was misheard and that he was not racist towards Kamara.
Police are also investigating an alleged assault on Slavia player Kolar amid claims he was punched by the Rangers player in the tunnel after full-time.
UEFA are probing both incidents.
The statement issued on Glen Kamara's behalf also calls for tough action against Kudela.
It reads: "Glen welcomes the Police investigation into the alleged racist abuse of him by Mr. Kudela. Police Scotland officers will now require to question Mr. Kudela, when he returns next month to play Arsenal on April 8.
"A UEFA investigation is now also underway with which Glen will be fully cooperating with.
"Article 14 of UEFA disciplinary regulations gives UEFA the power to take robust disciplinary action against Mr. Kudela if he is found guilty.
"On this occasion ban of ten matches for Mr. Kudela will not suffice, he should at the very least be banned for a minimum of one year and Slavia Prague who remain in denial should face consequences, including deduction of points and/or disqualification from the competition.”
