Rangers star Jordan Jones denies dangerous driving on M77 in his Range Rover

A Rangers star is to go on trial in May charged with dangerous driving.

Jordan Jones, 25, is accused of driving at grossly excessive speeds for the road and traffic conditions as well as travelling over road markings on Glasgow’s M77 last July.

The winger – who joined Rangers last summer from Kilmarnock – is also alleged to have changed lanes without indicating and repeatedly carried out undertaking manoeuvres.

Prosecutors claim the Northern Ireland star was travelling too close to vehicles and ignoring traffic signals in his Range Rover Sport.

Jones' attendance at a hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court was excused, but a plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.

A trial date in May was set by Sheriff Elizabeth MacFarlane.
